Saturday, June 17, 2023 - 09:00 to 16:00

Are you interested in learning about mobility justice, sustainable transportation, and city-building through an anti-racism lens?

Join B.E.S.T. (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation) and the UBC Climate Action Mobilizers on June 17th, 2023 in a strategic planning workshop. This workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of traditional Indigenous values, decolonize the way you think about “communities,” and reimagine sustainable transportation and urban planning.

Facilitated by Kathi Camilleri, Paddling Together aims to present mobility justice from Indigenous perspectives.  Everyone is welcome.

A word from Kathi Camilleri:

Traditionally we had many, many ways of treating one another which affirmed our belief that everyone is a sacred gift. This workshop experience from the Village Workshop Series© will help awaken and deepen our understanding of traditional ways and values in ‘Village’

Together we will vision and commit to organizational goals with a focus on creating a path forward. This workshop builds on Building Bridges Through Understanding the Village by helping organizations shift their focus from understanding to stepping more fully into reconciliation.

A veteran workshop facilitator, Kathi Camilleri holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies from Royal Roads University. Her 26-year career has been in Aboriginal Mental Health and private consulting and facilitation. She is of Metis/Cree and Irish ancestry.

We look forward to diving into this discussion and can’t wait to see you there!
