THIS EVENT IS IN PERSON ONLY.
Featuring marine activist Ted Danson and award-winning marine scientists Daniel Pauly and Rashid Sumaila, Change Makers gets to the heart of the issue of sustainability to reveal a genuine pathway to success. The film examines the WTO fishing agreement as our best and perhaps only shot for turning the tide of environmental destruction. It poses a crucial question: Why should I care about fishing subsidies? and breaks down the subject by likening countries’ fishing practices to a competition between two friends—one with immense resources, and the other struggling with very little. It asks of us all: Are we ready to be the change makers for a better world?
Following the film will be a panel discussion featuring Dr. Daniel Pauly (IOF), in person, alongside the director and producer of the film Change Makers and Dr. Rashid Sumaila (IOF; SPGGA), who will join online. It will be moderated by Dr. Phillippe Le Billon (SPPGA).
Location: AERL Theatre.
