Thu, November 24, 2016 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM CENTRE FOR INTERACTIVE RESEARCH ON SUSTAINABILITY (CIRS). Free.. On November 24th, from 5:30 - 7:00, join us and Josephine Schrott, an Earth Charter Young Leader, to learn all about the Earth Charter. Expand your vision of sustainability, embrace a new sense of care and responsibility to the earth and build connections to your peers.
The Earth Charter is an international declaration that outlines key values and responsibilities the human race has in order to preserve and protect our Earth by creating a sustainable, peaceful and united global community.
The Earth Charter emphasizes, as a central theme, why it is important to live a more sustainable life. Connections between taking action and the significance behind that action will be made on both a local and global scale. We will dive into how students, like you, can incorporate meaningful action in your daily lives and, essentially, your future careers.
We will also take a look at how the Earth Charter is being implemented in the world today and the effect it has had to date.
Locally sourced food and refreshments will be available before the presentation, so please come on time!
Free but registration required as space is limited.
