Energy Literacy for a Post-Normal Future
Terrance Berg, Curriculum Studies, UBC
8-9 pm, Coach House, Green College, 6201 Cecil Green Park Road, UBC
Humanity has enjoyed over six generations of exponential growth in energy consumption. However, continued consumption of fossil fuels brings negative externalities that pose clear threats to civilization: climate change, ocean acidification, population overshoot, and economic collapse, among other risks. In this talk, Terrance Berg will outline his research from various peak energy organizations on Energy Literacy, a developing meta-narrative he feels is necessary in order to understand living in the coming post-normal future.
