Sat, November 1, 2014 2:15 PM - 5:15 PM BEATY BIODIVERSITY CENTRE. FREE. With the fall rains, many BC fungi erupt from the ground to present a spectacular display of mushrooms. If you like mushrooms and want to learn more about them, join us, rain or shine, for an exploration of mushrooms and a walk through the UBC campus.
Please meet us in the Allan Yap Biodiversity Theatre inside the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at 2:15 pm for an introduction to mushrooms before we head outside. Group leaders Brett Couch, Jaclyn Dee, Ludovic Le Renard, and Mary Berbee will highlight the characters you can use to identify some of our province's more abundant kinds of fungi and show you some of our common poisonous and edible species.
Adults and families with kids are welcome – dress for the weather! Please do not bring pets and please refrain from smoking.
