Sara Muir-Owen, PICS UBC Program Manager will offer a brief background on the UNFCC and important milestones, including last year’s Paris Agreement, that have shaped the focus of COP22 in Marrakech.
Simon Donner, Associate Professor, Climatology, UBC will offer insight into the key negotiations that took place at this first meeting of the Paris Agreement, including Canada’s stance and core climate change announcements, while Lucian Go, Fox International Fellow, Yale University will share his thoughts on how the recent US election results informed COP22 and may continue to influence international negotiations moving forward.
