The Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS), located at the UBC Farm, is a unique research centre that aims to understand and fundamentally transform local and global food systems towards a more sustainable, food secure future.
The UBC Farm is a 24-hr teaching and learning space, and integrated production farm. The UBC Farm is certified organic and grows over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The farm also features honey beehives and egg-laying, open-pasture hens. Learn about food sustainability by immersing yourself in the landscape of a working certified organic farm and research, community and teaching hub.
Your 1 hour tour will begin at the entrance of the UBC Farm and will be followed by a delicious, locally sourced, boxed lunch provided by Scholar’s Catering.
Please wear comfortable, closed toe walking shoes during the tour (no high heeled shoes, flip flops or sandals). The Farm is easily accessible by bike, transit (C20, C18, 41), walking or carpooling. There is ample bike parking in front of the Farm and free two hour car parking as well. To find a detailed description of transportation options http://ubcfarm.ubc.ca/contact-us
