This program offers the option to stay in a UBC student residence during the program or commute daily.
Close relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners are an extremely important part of our day-to-day lives. In fact, close relationships are one of the most important factors affecting life quality and satisfaction. In this course, we look at how the science of relationships can help us analyze and understand our close relationships, how these relationships begin, grow and decline, and how they change over the span of our lives.
Who should take this course?
This course is ideal if you’re interested in psychology, sociology or education, or wish to develop your critical, analytical and methodological skills.
Your instructor
SILVIA BARTOLIC, PhD, is a senior instructor in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia, and a recipient of the prestigious Killam Teaching Award for her courses in family sociology. Silvia’s research interests lie in the scholarship of teaching and learning, relationship dynamics, family and health.
