Sat, August 20, 2016 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM UBC FARM. $45 ($38 for registered students -- valid student ID is required) + GST. Learn how to grow food in urban settings (balconies, containers, small patios) in ways that maximize space and yields for “Edible Landscapes.” Healthy soils, water, companion and succession planting will be discussed.
This workshop will be mainly theory, with some hands-on demonstrations. Participants will be given handouts with resources and draft plans for their plants/crops

About the Instructor: Silvia is an experienced and creative Master Gardener and Permaculture Instructor with a passion for healthy and local food. She is part of the local Food Action Coalition, coordinates a Community Garden, and teaches food and gardening skills.
