Wed, November 16, 2016 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM UBC FARM. $53 ($46 for registered students -- valid student ID is required) + GST. Join Eliana Macdonald to learn the basics of knitting! Topics covered will include: materials, casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, casting off, how to read a pattern, and creating a gauge swatch. Basic stitches patterns and terminology will outlined. We will begin a small and easy knitting project, such as a mason jar cozy.
About the Instructor: A knitter for ten years, Eliana loves the practical and creative nature of knitting. She enjoys the simple sense of self-reliance that knitting (and gardening and bike-riding and plenty of other fun things) brings. She prefers knitting with natural fibers, dying wool with kool-aid and recycling yarn from second hand sweaters. Eliana likes teaching people how to knit, and loves knitting socks and slippers.
