Filmed on location deep in the heart of BC's Selkirk Mountains, Primeval: Enter the Incomappleux is a 20-minute documentary about the majesty, magic and endurance of one of the world's last truly intact temperate rainforests - the incomparable Incomappleux.
Following an expedition of conservationists, biologists and wilderness explorers, filmmaker Damien Gillis documents the nature and history of this unique place - replete with 2,000-year-old trees and rare lichens - along with a plan to preserve it through a new provincial or Canadian park, the Selkirk Mountain Caribou Park Proposal.
Admission is by donation. Doors open 1:30 p.m.
There will also be a separate screening later in the day at the Rotary Centre for the Arts from 7 to 8 p.m.
These screenings are organized by the Okanagan Institute for Biodiversity, Resilience, and Ecosystems Services (BRAES). To find out more, email carolina.restrepo@ubc.ca.
