UBC’s Climate Action Plan 2030 targets a 50% reduction in waste disposal for the Vancouver campus by 2030 through applying a circular economy lens. Achieving this goal will require institutional changes such as continuing to improve and innovate around our campus operations and infrastructure, procurement policies, and business processes, alongside strong participation from the UBC community. Through campus-wide engagement programs, climate action campaigns and awareness-building activities, we encourage everyone at UBC to contribute to building a zero waste campus and a circular economy.

SORT IT OUT
At UBC, we separate our waste into four main streams: food scraps, containers, paper, and garbage. You'll see the Sort it Out stations conveniently placed in buildings and other locations.
