The Ocean which feeds us and regulates our climate is changing at the fastest rate in human history. Eight hundred million people are at risk of coastal flooding within a generation. And ocean-related risks are multiplying. We need to understand these risks and we need to build resilience to them. We can do this by valuing and then investing in coastal ecosystems - reefs, wetlands, mangroves. Then we need to work together to drive systemic change. The Ocean Risk Resilience and Action Alliance (ORRAA) is an example of a multi-sector alliance that pioneers finance and insurance products that incentivize investment in nature-based solutions, with a focus on protecting the communities that need it the most.
