The goal of this course is to equip you to analyze environmental problems sociologically. This means being able to offer evidence-based and theoretically-informed answers to the following questions:
- What constitutes an environmental issue?
- What social forces are most salient in shaping the issue?
- Which social actors, institutions, objects etc. are most negatively affected by the issue?
- What solution(s) are being posed to deal with the issue(s)?
- Which social actors, institutions, objects etc. are most negatively affected by the solutions posed to address the issue?
- Which social actors, institutions, objects etc. are most positively affected by the solutions posed to address the issue?
