Welcome to the Zero Waste Squad at UBC! As a member of this dedicated team, you will join a network of like-minded students to play an impactful role in contributing to waste management, sustainability, and building a greener future on campus.
Connect with the UBC community on sustainability through outreach and engagement events.
Support student and staff groups on campus who are championing sustainability efforts.
Make new friends and enjoy free food, while contributing to making popular UBC events more sustainable.
Work with UBC to educate the public on our strategic sustainability plans (CAP2030, Zero Waste Action Plan).

Intake Periods

 

 

As a member of the Zero Waste Squad, you commit to: 

  • Attending a one-time volunteer training session 
  • Volunteering for 3+ shifts per semester 
  • Attending campus events, activities and outreach initiatives (e.g. Homecoming, Apple Festival, Climate Emergency Week, Food Truck Festivals, etc.) 
  • Working with a team of like-minded students to empower the UBC community to take climate action and learn about responsible waste diversion
