The Faculty of Forestry hosts the IUFRO Resources for the Future Task Force Conference on August 27 - 29 at the Forest Sciences Building. The conference will feature world leaders in the forest resources field, and provide them with a venue to collaborate and share ideas with academia, government, industry and NGOs — all stakeholders in the future of the world’s forests. The goal is to provide a platform where speakers can share their expertise in various areas and identify potential solutions.
The Conference will look at four themes:
• Globalization – How will globalization impact forests?
• Plantations – What are the consequences of increasing reliance on plantations?
• Bio-products and advanced building systems – What are the implications of new and emerging products on forests and forest research?
• Forest Ecosystem Services – How will forest ecosystems services develop and affect human communities and landscapes?
