Research Interests Causes and consequences of disturbance and extreme events in tropical forest landscapes; Climate and land-use change are already altering the frequency and intensity of disturbance and climate extremes. Can we predict which forests will be most vulnerable to these events? What are the processes that underlie spatial heterogeneity in forest responses to disturbance and climate extremes? How do these events shape forest landscapes?

Research Interests Hydrological effects of forest management and land use change; the effects of wildfire on hydrology and erosion;

Research Interests Research to develop and test forest ecosystem management models at multiple spatial scales; exploring options for sustaining and improving the flow of ecosystem services from forest resources and evaluating the potential long-term impacts of climate change on forest health, growth and development; evaluating the impacts of management alternatives to mitigate the impacts of mountain pine beetle and other biogenic disturbance agents on forest resources.
